With a background in Journalism and Creative Writing, I love crafting stories full of efficient language and accurate content.  My writing has appeared in WBUR’s Cognoscenti, Dig Boston, Scout Somerville, Content Standard, STACK, and Spare Change News. As a journalist I’ve covered topics like homelessness, local politics, transportation, Latino and immigration issues, and music. As a blogger and press writer, I’ve worked on topics like religion, local business, video games, social media, and higher education.  I also have a short story published in Issue 10 of Imitation Fruit, an essay in the Spring 2012 Issue of Solstice Magazine, and another essay in Issue 1, Volume 3 of Defunct (published by Iowa University). As a collection, these three pieces were a prizewinner in the Eighth Annual Kingston-Mann Student Research Awards.   I received my MFA in Creative Non-Fiction from Pine Manor College’s Solstice Creative Writing Program.

I am a versatile writer/editor with experience in fiction, non-fiction, research, editing, web copy, blogging and ghost writing.   I graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a degree in English and International Relations. As a non-traditional student, I balanced the demands of a job, family, commuting, and running a small horse farm, yet still graduated Magna Cum Laude and with High honors. I excel at multi-tasking while managing a demanding schedule.  I take pride in my work. My writing style encompasses a wide range, from academic pieces to informal conversations; it is important for the tone of the writing reflect the intention of the project.  I have personal interests in health, fitness, animal care, gardening, travel, world politics, and current social issues, but always willing to learn something new.
